  • Another Beautiful Fall Day in Ashland

Fall is always my favorite time of year to take photos in Ashland- the weather is perfect, leaves are starting to fall and the light is magnificant. Today I got to photograph the Matteson family at North Mountain Park and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Their two little ones did really well. As you can see, toddlers like to start making funny faces around this age, so you never know what you will get- but it's always cute and memorable. I really enjpy capturing the not so magazine perfect photos- because that's what makes the best memories of that particular time in life and shows the personality of that person or family.

  • Last Days of Summer at North Mountain Park in Ashland

Summer is coming to an end again. I can't say I am too sad about this particular summer ending- only because fire season has been so bad this year and we desparately need rain and cooler temperatures. After at least a month of smoky skies in Ashland, the weather cleared up just in time for my first mini session weekend at North Mountain Park. Mini sessions are a great way to update your family photos every year and I put them on every few months- you can always check my website under portrait pricing or go to my facebook page to find out if there is one coming up. I got to meet the Allen family this particular weekend. Their 3 girls were a lot of fun and gave me some great poses with attitude. Thanks again for coming out Allens!

  • Summer Wedding in Northern California

Wow! What an incredible couple and wedding day! Cynthia and Robert not only had to change their ceremony venue due to construction last minute, but then also had to change their reception venue due to the Carr Fire in Redding. They even had a blast taking photos outdoors in the smoke and over 100 degree heat! The energy and love these two have for one another was obvious. I wish them the best in their future! Congrats!

  • Cookin Up Some "Hello Fresh"

I love food! I love photography! I love food photography!

I've been seeing the ads for these new companies where you can actually have fresh meals delievered right to your doorstep. My friend offered me a free trial, so I thought- why not? A box with 4 separate dinners arrived at my doorstep with step by step recipe cards. I have to admit- I was pretty excited to try them out not only because they were so simple to make, but they looked pretty yummy. After cooking them up, I thought they looked so pretty I just had to photograph them. I would definitely recommend Hello Fresh to anyone who wants a simple, delicious, hassle free way to create a good meal during the week when you may just be a bit too busy to get to the grocery store. "Yum Yum".

  • Family Photos at North Mountain Nature Park

I was so excited to be able to photograph my friends family again. About a year and a half earlier, their young son would barely hold still for a moment and had a popsicle in his mouth most of the session:). This time around, they had just welcomed their newest daughter and their son was a little more excited about having his photo taken. It was such a beautiful evening at North Mountain Nature Park in Ashland and the light was just right as it was setting behind the nice, green, full trees in bloom.

  • Engagment Shoot at Whiskeytown Lake Area

What an beautiful day for an spring engagment session and an incredible couple to hang out with! Everything is in bloom in Redding, including the gorgeous pear trees out at Whiskeytown Lake at the Mill Creek area. We had a great time taking engagment photos in front of the Camden House and old barn. This adorable couple is getting married this Fall at an outdoor camp. Their friends and family will camp out in the cabins for the reception and roast marshmallows around the camp fire all nite. Congratulations Katrina and Jordan!

  • Spring Wedding at TBS Ranch

TBS Ranch (  in Palo Cedro, CA is a perfect spot for a rustic, chic outdoor wedding. The reception is held in an old and charming auction barn- lit up in beautiful chandeliers and white strung lights. Veronica and Logan were the first couple this year to be married at TBS and had a perfect spring day- the sun decided to show after a really good rain storm and they were able to hold the ceremony out on the lawn, where the bride carried a gorgeous boquet of sunflowers down the sunflower lined walkway to the alter ( Everyone had a blast dancing the nite away in the barn on a perfect spring evening. Congratulations to Veronica and Logan!

  • Engagement at Mt. Shasta Resort

Sarah and Matthew were engaged at the beaufitful Mt. Shasta Resort in the town of Mt. Shasta, CA and decided to go back to have their engagement session there. It looked like a spring day for Februrary with just enough snow on the top of the mountain to showcase why they wanted to have their photos taken here. They share a love of familiy, their dogs, fishing and of course each other. They plan on marrying next Spring at the TBS Ranch in Palo Cedro, CA. I had a lot of fun with this young couple enjoying the scenery on yet another amazing Northern CA winter day. Congratulations Sarah and Matthew!

  • Lake Tahoe Winter Maternity Session

What do you do when it's 55 degrees and sunny out at Lake Tahoe in the beginning of Februrary? A "spring" maternity photo session of course! I got to spend the afternoon with Frances and Eric, who are expecting their first in a couple of months. We shot at two separate locations in South Lake Tahoe- a beautiful open feild and the shore of Lake Tahoe at sunset. We had the very little left overs of snow from the week before in our feild, but none on the shoreline. It was strange to have it looking like late spring there- but made for a great time. Congratulations to Frances and Eric- I can't wait to meet the little one!

  • Winter Wedding at McCloud Guest House

I had the honor of photographing the Burch wedding over the weekend at the beautiful McCloud Guest House outside of Mt. Shasta. It was an intimate gathering of close friends and family with the ceremony taking place on the large porch of the 110 year old house. After the ceremony, guests gathered inside to enjoy a wonderful winter dinner prepared by Etched in Elegance Catering. All of the decorations were prepared by the bride and groom, which fit the theme of their winter wedding and looked incredible. The bride wore a gorgeous blush vintage dress, with her grandmothers vintage earrings and broach. I really enjoyed being a part of their special day and the beautiful, wintery themed wedding. Congratulations Laura and Bryan!

  • My Incredible Trip to Thailand

Thailand has been a travel destination on my "bucket list" for a long time. My husband and I finally got to travel there in November. I have to admit, that a lot of the draw to Thailand for me was the food- I can't get enough of it! Of course the beaches, culture, temples and people of Thailand all interest me as well.

We decided to visit an island on the Eastern seaboard of Thailand called Koh Chang (Chang means elephand in Thai). It takes about an hour flight from Bangkok and then a 40 min ferry ride to get there (after about 25 long hours of travel from the states). There is only one main road on the island that doesn't yet go all of the way around it. There are many towns along the way with tons of places to stay, eat, shop, bar hop and sun bathe on the beach. For our first week, we stayed on a stretch of coast called Lonely Beach at Nature Beach Resort. Our 1 bedroom "bungalow" was a 1 minute walk to a beautiful, white sand beach and cost us $35.00 a nite!

The food did not disappoint! Everywhere you go, there are open air family run restaurants, with fresh seafood that was caught that day. You can get a really good meal for about $3-5, and everything is fresh and homemade. There are fresh fruit stands on every corner that will make your tropical fruit into a smoothie if wanted and cold, young coconuts to drink water from. The island is very humid (it was about 80 degrees, but felt much hotter), so it's important to stay hydrated.

We took a Thai cooking class at a local restaraunt called the "Happy Turtle". So and her husband Nick run it and were so much fun to talk with and learn from. We got to make Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, Masaman Curry, Tom Yuk Soup and a coconut cream desert. It was sooo good, and sooo much food we couldn't finish it. We even got a recipe book to bring home with us!

Overall, we had an amazing time in Thailand. One thing I really loved was the people. Thai's are very friendly and helpful. Many of them spoke at least some english, which made it easy to get around and figure things out. We were never harrassed, pick pocketed or taken advantage of, which I have experienved in other parts of the world. If you ever get a chance to travel there, i highly reccommend it.

  • Engagement Session at North Mountain Park, Ashland

Sabrina and Dave's engagement session took place on another perfect fall day in Ashland. North Mountain Park is so much fun to shoot at because of the different areas of the park- there's an old barn type structure, open grass feilds, the creek and a beautiful garden in late spring. Sabrina's engagement ring is a family heirloom, which I tried to showcase in most of their photos while tying in the fall season theme. They plan on getting married next June in a beautiful riverfront park in Grants Pass, OR. Congratulations Sabrina and Dave!

  • Family Portraits in Lithia Park, Ashland

My absolute most favorite time of the year in Ashland is fall! The town is known for its amazingly bright, fall colors and Lithia Park( is one of the best places to see all of those beautiful changes. Last year I got to photograph the Robertson's at North Mountain Park in Ashland. It's so much fun to see how their 2 girls have grown up, even in such a short time since then. It was a little chilly when we started out in the morning, but as we walked up into Lithia Park, it warmed up nicely and turned into one of those perfect, fall Ashland days I love so much.

  • Wedding Reception at the Green Springs Inn, Ashland OR

Tom and Suzanna met in Berlin, Germany. She is from Poland and Tom is from the States. They married in Europe last month, honeymooned in Italy and then returned to Southern Oregon for their American Wedding Reception. They choose to have their friends and family gather at the Green Springs Inn(, near Ashland. Green Springs Inn is a wonderful piece of mountain property, with a restaurant(my favorite homemade Key Lime Pie is here), lodge, several beautiful cabins with Japanese soaking tubs on the deck and a outdoor wedding and reception venue. It is magical place! The surroundings are so peaceful, the owners so friendly and the nature is so inspiring. The reception was a heartfelt and fun evening. David(DJ Simple) from Revive events( did a great job keeping the party going with a fantastic selection of music and speeches from family and friends. I hope that Tom and Suzanna enjoyed being here as much as I did and congratulations to them!

  • Pamplin Grove Wedding in the Redwoods, Ca

Congratulations to Sarah and Mark for finally tying the knot after 11 years! They had thier wedding ceremony in the Redwods at Pamplin Grove(, with a First Look taking place just down the road at an old railroad bridge. The bride wore a vintage style dress along with her grandmother's pearl necklace. The groom's sister performed the ceremony with many memorable and funny stories. I'm so blessed to know Mark and Sarah and I wish them fun filled adventures together forever.
